This article will teach you how to remove the fuses on your RAMBo board.
Getting started
For this you will need the following tools:
- Time - 10-15 minutes.
- Hardware - 3 mm Hex key wrench or screwdriver.
- Small knife or tweezers
- Multi-meter
Step 1
Shut down and unplug your printer.
Step 2
Using the 3 mm Hex key wrench, remove the three screws on the right hand side of the printer.
Step 3
Gently lift away the metal electronics case. The electronics fan will still be attached. Feel free to uncouple the wires.
Step 4
There are three fuses on your RAMBo board.
- The 15A automotive blade fuse is for your HBP
- The upper SMD fuse is for the logic, heaters, and fans
- The lower SMD fuse is for the motors
You can remove the automotive fuse with your fingers. The SMD fuses can be removed with a pair of tweezers or even a small knife.
The 15 amp automotive fuse can be visually inspected for a short. You will be able to see if the contact on the top is still intact.
The SMD fuses must me removed from the board and tested for continuity with the multi-meter.
You can get 15 amp fuses at any auto parts store. If you need to replace you SMD fuses, you can get them at Mouser Electronics.
