Download and import official MakerGear settings for Simplify3D 4.0
Note: Make sure you read through the notes on how to use each profile. There is important information on when to use which profile and how to configure your extruders for dual color prints.
These profiles are designed for Simplify3D 4.0.
Simplify 3D allows you to import new presets so that you can print different materials and with different machine configurations. These presets are known as 'Profiles'. You can also import workspaces that include presets as well as 3D models - these are known as 'Factory Files'
Once you've downloaded the ZIP file, extract its contents to your computer. Look in the following folder depending on the Machine you have.
|MakerGear M3 Single Extruder Rev 0 (No Probe)||Simplify3D -> Single Extruder|
|MakerGear M3 Independent Dual Rev 0 (No Probe)||Simplify3D -> Independent Dual - Rev 0|
|MakerGear M3 Independent Dual Rev 1 (With Probe)||Simplify3D ->Independent Dual - Rev 1|
To import the Profiles:
Open Simplify3D File>>Import FFF profile. Select the profiles and click Open. Simplify 3D will import your selected files. They will be available in your FFF settings under the Select Profile dropdown menu.
Previous releases of the profiles and release notes can be found here.
New materials for 3D Printing are being developed frequently, often with new target properties and printing behavior. While existing material profiles can often help with a new material, having a starting profile decreases the need for experimentation. DuPont has released several of their materials in 3D Printer filament form, including Surlyn and Hytrel 3D4000FL and 3D41000FL, which are flexible to semi-flexible materials. We have Simplify3D profiles for these materials here. DuPont has more information, and Printing Guidelines, for these materials here.
